Leonora Rodriguez
Around 1890 just outside of a small town in South Texas called Premont,
a rich landowner named Raul Ramos married a Mexican woman named
Leonora Rodriguez. Shortly after their wedding, Raul went on an extended
trip. He returned home to find that Leonora was six months pregnant.
Believing that the child was not his, he ordered that Leonora be hanged.
The evening of her execution he road his horse out of town and killed
himself with a bullet to the head. For over one hundred years, Leonora
Rodriguez de Ramos has appeared near Premont crying for the life of
her unborn child and claiming that she never deceived her husband.
